Is it okay to brush a dog's teeth like this?

My neighbor uses a human toothbrush and human toothpaste for her dog. She brushes the dog's teeth daily/every other day.





I've got to say though, the dog's teeth are remarkably white, and her breath never stinks. I'm considering doing it with my dog. Is it okay?

A human toothbrush is fine, human toothpaste is not. Dogs do not know how to spit the toothpaste out, and will swallow it. Just like Grapes, human toothpaste is harmful and can be potentially deadly to dogs. Please save your precious pup the uncomfortable tummy ache and use the puppy paste! You should kindly inform your neighbor also, it sounds like you both love your dogs a ton! Good for you for brushing those pupper-chomps! I think a soft, kids toothbrush would be fine to use on a dog.
Human toothpaste is toxic to dogs they don't spit. Human tooth brush is fine a baby's tooth brush works great. There are products for dogs used to brush there teeth.





The human tooth paste may work better but it's not good for dogs. This is why young children are not to use it. Dogs don't spit there teeth should not be brushed with human tooth paste.

They label tooth paste warning that small children should not swallow it. Last I heard it's not easy to teach a dog to rinse and spit. Use the dog paste, your dog will live longer than hers. You will love the stinky breath for a long, long time.
Buy your neighbor some dog toothpaste and give it as a present and tell her that it's a gift. Tell her in a nice way that you found out that the human toothpaste she is using is not good for her dog. Betcha she will thank you.

Human toothpaste: toxic. I would very hesitantly say MAYBE a small amount of children's toothpaste that says it's safe to swallow, but even that might upset a dog's stomach. Definitely NEVER regular adult toothpaste!!

The tooth brush is too hard for the dogs gum's and cause damage and hurt the dog.


The toothpaste is hurmful because if swallod it could harm the dog.






dog toothpaste is better because they really don't like minty flavors and human toothpaste foams a lot more. brushing is a very good idea - good for you for doing this for your dog.
Stick to the dog stuff. It is developed for dogs for a reason. I don't think your neighbor should do that because the dog will swallow it and it could make him/her sick.

instead mix some baking soda with water. This is what is used to brush dog's teeth if you really have too. Its safe for them.
It is not okay!!!!! It even tells us on the label not to swallow it!!! Think what it could do to ur dog! Keep doing what ur doing!!!
