Does one have to clean the mascara brush after every use?

Do you clean the brush after you use it or just once a week or something?

And the best way to clean it?Does one have to clean the mascara brush after every use?
No, but replace the mascara after 3 months.

This is because bacteria can grow on the brush, and you don't want any infections in you eye now do you? Also, never share your eye makeup with ANYONE.

I hope this helps!

PS: replace your eyeliner after 3 months too.

PPS: You do not have to clean it, but if you feel the need just soak it in warm water and soap. and rinse it afterwards.Does one have to clean the mascara brush after every use?
No you do not have to, but it is recommend to change out your mascara ever 6 months because of bacteria that will grow. If you change your mascara at least twice a year (if not more) you should be fine. Sometimes when mine gets kind of clumpy and gross on the brush I just rinse it with hot water but as long as you keep the brush in the mascara you should not have to clean it or worry about it drying out. But if you want to wash it after each use feel free, it definitively won't hurt!
If you have an eye infection (pink eye/etc...) and you use mascara (although you're not supposed to), then definitely clean the brush.

Normally, though, it doesn't matter what's on the brush since it all comes out of the formula.

But if you're using a brush and switch mascaras but keep the old brush, then clean it before your first use.
unless you are sharing your makeup, there is no need to clean your brush. the only germs that might be on there are from your own eyes...so..yea.

here are the only times that you need to clean your brush:

-if you recnetly had Pink eye, and used mascara

-Sharing makeup (which you should never do in the 1st place)

-dropped on the ground

-if the container is left out in the heat for an extended amount of time. (this can cause the germs to grow)

hope this helped you with your delima!
No.

No matter what the facetious and finicky people out there say, no, you don't have to clean the brush after EVERY use. Regulary is enough. Lessay, after every 7-10 uses.

Cleaning it after every use will just wear the brush out.

^_^ Hope I helped!

no, every week or so. I just wash the brush under water and run my fingers up and down it. Especially if it a expensive one like max factor. If you use a cheap one, then dip it in. It works great as the expensive stuff because its the brush that does the work. Becarefu when you wash it, incase you ruin the brizzles. :D
Ok, I am 51, which is pretty old, lol, and have worn mascara since I was about 14, and I have never cleaned the brush, and have never suffered any ill-effects. You are just making work for yourself, don't. :0)
you have to be very careful with bacteria it will form on the brush then go to your eye. if this happens you may get sties on your eyes. they are very painful. you never share mascara with anyone. do not use it more than 3 months before getting new one
I'm quite sure that you do not have to clean your mascara brush. But it is suggested that you get new mascara every three months or so.

I found that information in the link below towards the middle of the page.
No, of course not, you'll end up drying out your mascara this way and wasting it. Now, make sure you don't lend it to anyone for even one use, because that way you can get some kind of infection.
You should clean it once every two weeks, the reason being because bacteria builds up on the brush best way is to soak it in warm water and eye makeup remover.Nothing else, and yes replace after 3 months.
i only clean mine when it starts to clump i just run i under water till the mascara is off the brush then it is a good as new

idk i've only had to was mine 1nce so idk

hardley ever
You don't have to clean it. If you really want to just use warm water and soap. Use your fingers to clean the bristles. It is recommended that you buy new mascara every 3 months.
No because it's going to be black again anyways. Unless if you dropped it in some dirty place then yes, you'll have to clean it.
no you don't. my mother doesn't. i don't although i don't use mascara. but i don't believe you have to.
i have never cleaned mine.it works just as well as if u don't.i have seen pl clean it tho and it ruined some of the bristles.
No not after every use just every so often to soften and clean up the bristles as the mascara tends to clump them together
I only wipe any clumps off I don't clean the brush. I just use the one until it runs out or I want a new kind then I throw it away.
I don't clean mine....And I don't think you need to. It's going to go back

in the same place as it was before.

O___O
I don't clean it but you are suposed to replace it after three months or if it begans to smell bad.
you can ,but i do not it still works good
You don't clean it. You just put it back in the mascara tube.
you dont clean it or the water would ruin your mascara ans its brush

who told you to clean it haha
No, but make sure you don't share your mascara with other people. That is when infections start
i dont clean it... you dont need to... u need to get another mascara brush if someone wants to use it tho.
I don't clean mine. I don't see the need to...
I have never cleaned my mascara brush. If you feel the need to than go ahead.
You don't clean it. U throw the product away after 3 months or when it starts to smell funny.
you do not have to clean it, i do not xx Hannah xx

  • Can i use a concealer brush as a blending brush?

    Title says it all.

go to sephor's its an awesome makeup store and they have blending brushes of all sizes from $8.00-30.00 the should have exactly what ur looking for.Can i use a concealer brush as a blending brush?
No a concealer brush should be stiff, but you want a fluffy brush to blend colors. I got one like this from Ulta http://www.overstockdrugstore.com/produc鈥?/a> and it works well, plus it's double ended and the other end works well for the crease. I think I paid like $5.

Where can i get a good stippling brush?

I live in Canada BC, so don't suggest target because there isn't any here ahah. And if it could be on the less pricey side, that would be good =)

Thanks!Where can i get a good stippling brush?
    Try CoastalScents.

You can visit there website. I provided a link for you. %26lt;3Where can i get a good stippling brush?
Oh my word, you don't have a Target? You poor thing! I'm sure you have a suitable alternative, though. Do you have a Sephora store or an Ulta? They can recommend good ones.

Mine is from www.maccosmetics.com. It's fantastic! It was a bit more than I wanted to pay, but it's lasted forever and it is the only thing that covers my pale, I'm-a-redhead-and-I-have-red-cheeks skin. It's #109. I was reluctant, but when I went to the store to have my make up done, the girl recommended it as a stippling brush and it works small miracles every morning.
    WalGreen's, Rite Aide, Sephora, etc.

I had cleaned Terpantine off a Paint brush in restroom sink and days later it still smells, How do you...?

Get the smell of Terpantine Out of the sink Pipes? Any links, helps, and tips will be appreciated. Thank you.I had cleaned Terpantine off a Paint brush in restroom sink and days later it still smells, How do you...?
I would wash the sink with a degreasing detergent such as Dawn dishwashing liquid.Turpentine is very aromatic and oily. The smell will linger for a while.

In the future, clean your brushes with pure Mineral Spirits...it's cheaper and has much less odor.I had cleaned Terpantine off a Paint brush in restroom sink and days later it still smells, How do you...?
Turpentine is a petrochemical paint thinner. It is a distilate from crude oil. I would first wash down the sink with a strong solvent like acetone, then follow that with a good detergent, like Simple Green.

    That ought to do it.
Try white vinegar...it is a will usually counteract with acids and odors to eliminate them. Try not to let turpentine touch your skin...it is caustic.
You could get a wrench and take off the trap and clean the gunk out of it. Probably the terps is stuck in the trap and you can't flush it out. So wipe it out with a rag and that should get the smell out. If not you can flush it with odorless paint thinner(another form of terpentine, but does not smell). Varsol is paint thinner but smells. They will each thin out the same paint (or wash it off) Terps is used more for artistic painting where you want the oil paints to dry slower and shinier.(not that you will see the difference)

What do you call markers with a brush-like nib?

I'm looking for markers that don't have the somewhat hard nib, but instead have a brush-like tapered one, fairly thick. Is there a specific name for that type of marker? Because when I search for them, I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Even searching Copic and Micron doesn't seem to find what I want. Thanks for your help. What do you call markers with a brush-like nib?
Consider something like the Copic Super-brush nib.

Can ear mites live on a cats brush?

My cat keeps getting ear mites, can they be coming from her brush that I groom her with? Can ear mites live on a cats brush?
yes, and contrary to what some other people may have told you, you should NOT get over-the-counter ear mite treatment. You need to have the cat treated at your vet. Also, a good way to PREVENT the mites is to keep your cat on Revolution, which you can get from your vet.Can ear mites live on a cats brush?
Yes I think they can. my cats have had them before and you can buy overthe counter ear mite meds. from pets mart or any store. clean her ears out with warm water and a paper towel. I even use q-tipps to get all the crud out the use a little med. get it down in her ear as well as you can and rud her ear my cats usually like this them let her shake her head. hope this helps.
Yep. You should wash it with hot water and soap.
